How it Works

What are the benefits of comparing prices?

Saving you time & money!

Pricing up your journey can be tricky. With so many variables affecting the price of hiring a vehicle (from location, passengers, mileage, and many more), comparing offers from multiple transport partners also gives you access to the cheapest quotes. Quote My Journey could also include quotes from companies you may not have considered before, who may also deliver excellent value for money.

What factors affect my quote?

There are many factors involved in quoting the hire price of your journey, it’s not just the vehicle driver and the vehicle, you've got the fuel cost, cleaning, taxes, MOT, insurance, overheads to cover in the office and costs of maintenance etc. These are all built into the quote you are provided with. Whilst every journey is different, Quote My Journey enables you to find a transport partner to meet your needs and budget.

What types of training do the drivers undertake?

In the UK, drivers need to complete training for a Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) and the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC Driver). To start training with a company they must also be aged at least 18 and hold a full EU driving licence. Full details on coach and bus driver requirements can be viewed on Gov.uk.

Can you facilitate more than one pick up and/or drop off location?

Of course. Our transport partners may have different ways of providing this service, but multiple pickups and/or drop offs is a very common request and is easily facilitated. Just complete our ‘Post a Job’ form and include any relevant information relating to multiple pickups and/or drop offs.

What size of vehicles are available to hire?

Our transport partners can provide vehicles to suit all requirements. From national coach companies to smaller, family run businesses. The vehicles each transport partner has will vary and could include anything from a 4-seater taxi to a 74-seat double-decker bus. As a comparison site, our aim at Quote My Journey is to connect you with the best transport partner to suit your journey.

How much luggage is the vehicle able to carry?

It’s important to know how much luggage you can take with you, especially if you’re staying overnight, on a journey to the airport or travelling longer distances. Coaches tend to have large storage capacities underneath the vehicle, but it is worth asking the transport partner before booking your trip or if you have any special requirements.

Does my coach come with any additional features?

Depending on your journey you may wish to consider what requirements you have for your journey. If it’s a long journey, you may wish to enquire about toilet facilities. If you’re booking a vehicle for a wedding, you may want it adorned with ribbon. Most larger coaches have toilets as they are designed to make the passenger as comfortable as possible. As well as this, many coaches have TVs, music systems, comfortable seats with lots of legroom and wheelchair access, all to make your journey as easy as possible. There are many options for your journey and our transport partners can facilitate most requests.

Can you drink alcohol on a private hire coach?

Whether you can drink alcohol on the journey depends on the transport partner’s individual policy. Just so you’re aware, it is illegal to drink on a coach if you’re heading to a sporting event, but apart from that, it depends entirely on whether the transport partner allows it or not. What we advise is to speak to the transport partner prior to the journey to find out whether you can drink alcohol on your journey or not.

Are seat belts compulsory on my journey?

If there is a seat belt in the vehicle, it is compulsory that you wear it. The law requires you to wear a seatbelt if there is one fitted to the seat. Since October 1st, 2001, any new bus is required to have seat belts fitted in any forward or rearward facing seats, this includes coaches.
